My name is Chuck Landi. I have worked in the casino business for 30 years. I have worked as the following:

  • Dealer
  • Floor Supervisor
  • Pit Boss
  • Shift Boss

I have dealt blackjack, craps, and roulette.

Where I Have Worked

I worked in Lake Tahoe for four years. I worked in Las Vegas from 1974 to 1992. I worked in Northwestern Illinois and northeastern Iowa from 1992 to 1994. I moved to Mississippi in 1994 and worked on the first riverboat in that state called “Splash”. In 1995 I worked at the “Horseshoe Hotel and Casino” until March, 2000. I moved to Las Vegas and worked at Mandalay Bay from March, 2000 until October, 2003. I moved to the Phoenix area, and worked at Casino Arizona from November, 2003 to August, 2013.

The places I worked in Las Vegas were the Rainbow Club, The Dunes Hotel and Casino, The Frontier Hotel and Casino (when Howard Hughes owned it), The Golden Nugget (when Steve Wynn took it public at $6.00 a share, and I didn’t buy any stock), The MGM Grand Hotel and Casino (now Ballys), The Paradise Hotel and Casino, and The Marina Hotel and Casino. I worked in Laughlin for two years: from 1990 to 1992. I worked at the Ramada Express Hotel and Casino, The Golden Nugget Casino,  The Riverside Hotel and Casino, and The Colorado Belle.

Why I am Writing This Information

During my days in the casino business, players would ask me if they should ” hit ” or ” stay “. As a dealer, I was not allowed to tell them. When I put on the ” suit “, it was OK. As a Pit Boss I had more discretion and took more liberties with helping players. Most of the time they won when they did as I told them. Some players were doubtful that I was being truthful with them, but when they followed my advice, and won, they became believers. I want to help the ” little ” guy/gal get a chance to win ” big “. Whatever ” big ” means to them. Blackjack is an easy game to play, but if players don’t know how to play the game correctly, they will usually lose more often than they win. I will give you a few tips to make it easy for you to find a losing blackjack table and, therefore, help you to win. There are no guarantees that you will win, but if you follow the advice of a blackjack expert, you stand a better chance of winning than you do of losing.
